KAP Architecture LLC, located in Champaign, Illinois, offers comprehensive architecture services for projects varying is size and scope.  KAP was founded in August, 2008 by Robert Kapolnek, President and architect, a twenty-five year veteran of the architecture industry.   Since it's inception, KAP has thrived due to our philosophy and experience in the industry.

Philosophy

KAP focuses on the user benefits we can provide to our clients. Most architecture firms lose track of the client’s objectives when they set course on a new project. Kapolnek has built his reputation on providing the expertise necessary to guide the Owner through the design and construction process in order to best fulfill the needs of the client.

Sustainable Design

The advent of the environmentally conscious “Green Movement” has a direct impact on the architectural community. Architects were at the forefront of the sustainable design surge, creating the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) system for classifying the ecological impact of buildings. Architects can take courses and exam to become LEED® certified.   Kapolnek was the first architect in the Champaign-Urbana area to receive this designation and has worked with clients on LEED^® buildings in the recent past.

Technology

KAP stays current on the use of new technology as tools in our profession. Our philosophy is to stay “ahead of the curve” as new systems emerge that can help us run our business more efficiently.  Building technology continues to grow at a very fast rate. The Green Building movement has had a substantial effect on the materials and systems used to construct buildings. Because we have been at the leading edge of the LEED® movement, we remain at the forefront of incorporating this technology. KAP will make our designs adaptable to the inclusion of emerging innovation by using design flexibility.
